Yes, there could have been around 10,000 of them built by the Polyvalken, but nobody knows for sure. But 4000 were built at Breehorn in Woudsend alone, and there are many other shipyards. Even today, a few ships are added every year. No question: the Polyvalk is popular. But its story actually begins in the war years. With a courageous kitchen manufacturer who invented a waterproof wood and wanted to publicise it with a ship. The Valk was born. Since then, the class has undergone a long evolution that is still ongoing. Its long existence is one of the reasons for close regattas and large numbers of entries.
